2026 series of talks “Heroes”
Remember David and Goliath: what makes a hero is not size, stature, supernatural powers or a cape! What matters is obedience, faith, and the pursuit of excellence within the work we are called to carry out.
January 17 – My Father, Headmaster by John Gallagher MBE
February 21 – My Grandfather, Farmer by Geoff Pake
March 21 – My Father, Bletchley Code-Breaker by Malcolm Wylie
(Followed by a trip to Bletchley itself – booking essential)
April 18 – My Hero by Richard Todd (City Church)
May 16 – My ‘surrogate’ Father and Friend by Richard Blackhurst
June 20 8.30–10am – The Local Mission Field (Tickets £4 or £3 in advance )
This is our annual men’s and women’s special with Dan Holland (Through Faith Missions LE)

Thursday 19 February – 7pm Winter Warmer Curry Night at the Royal Bengal, Church St, Willingham **
Saturday 21 March – Talk and Day trip to Bletchley Park straight after breakfast. Bring packed lunch. Cost approx £25 plus travel. **
Saturday 18 April – Day trip to York Steam Museum by train. The Museum is free. **
Sunday 19 July – Day Trip to Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford. Travel cost TBD. **
Friday 23 October at 6.30pm – Cooked Supper and Film Night at Willingham Baptist Church. This has been hugely successful the last 2 years. Ladies are invited too!

What happens at Willingham Men’s Breakfast ? (WMB)
Who are we ?
We are a jovial mixed-age bunch of blokes from various backgrounds, all faiths and none, mainly from Willingham and neighbouring villages - These last few months we have welcomed 4 men for their first time. All Welcome- just turn up. membership not necessary.
Usual format:
- Breakfast - cooked full WMB Special/ or cereal fruit, tea/coffee, juice ; dietary too on prior request.
- Notices
- Talk usually around 20-30 minutes - (our 2026 theme is "Heroes" )
- Short Discussion/Q and A
When? Third Saturday every month at 7:45am. Yes, we start early, it does means men can get back to family/friends early in good time and is only for one Saturday a month. Regular attendance is optional of course, but ..you may miss out.
Time : 0745 hrs sit down
Finish : 0910 hrs promptly
Cost : Donation of £3 invited to cover breakfast / Free if your first time !
Where?: the main hall, Baptist Church, George Street just past the Co Op on LHS . We have safe parking and access for wheelchair and disabled toilet. Need a car-lift, let us know.

The Talks: We will draw on men’s experiences and stories as many live locally. During these short monthly talks, with maybe a video, or images projected on the large screen at the Willingham Baptist Church.
